About

Hi, I’m Belle. I’m a 38 year old woman who is finally ready to say goodbye to my eating disorder after 20+ years of letting it run and ruin my life.

I have a therapist and a dietitian who specializes in eating disorders — I accept that I can’t do it on my own. I am ready to do anything. I am ready to taste freedom.

I’ve been using food since I was 14 to escape from my ugly thoughts and feelings. But having ugly thoughts and feelings are part of being human, and digesting them in a healthy way, is part of life. It’s part of what I’m learning to do now.

Learning to sit in the quiet and reconnecting to my intuition is a major part of recovery, so I’ve chosen the owl to guide me.

The Owl symbolism comes to those who need to let go of some part of their life that is no longer needed. With this in mind, Owl symbolism cues you to listen carefully to your inner voice and guidance to recapture the knowledge of your correct path in life. This birds’ senses can pierce through shadows, beyond fear and darkness, through to the other side that promises light, happiness, and knowledge.

The meaning of the owl also has something to do with change or transition…it can push you to leave old habits behind and grab the opportunity to create new and healthy ones. This can also usher in newer and better things that can improve your life and take it to a new direction.
